Protect Your Move

Safety, Insurance & How to Avoid Damage

Safeguarding your belongings is our top priority. Use these guidelines to ensure a secure move from start to finish.

Choose Reliable Packing & Insurance Options

  • Use professional packing materials such as padded blankets, strong boxes, bubble wrap, mattress covers, and stretch wrap.

  • Declare high-value or fragile items (electronics, artwork, antiques, glassware) in advance so they receive special handling and are properly listed on your inventory.

  • Opt for Full (Replacement) Value Protection for maximum coverage, especially for valuable or fragile items.

  • Keep personal documents and valuables with you — jewelry, cash, passports, and important papers should never go in the moving truck.

Prepare Your Home & Items Properly

  • Empty wardrobes, drawers, and bookcases — do not move loose items inside furniture.

  • Disconnect appliances (gas, water, electricity) where required, drain fluids, and secure all cords and loose parts.

  • Wrap furniture corners and surfaces with padding, and disassemble large furniture when possible.

  • Label all boxes clearly with room name, content, and “Fragile” where applicable.

Supervise Loading & Unloading

  • Be present during loading and unloading to verify the inventory list item by item.

  • Take photos of fragile or high-value items before packing and after unloading — this helps in case of damage claims.

  • Ensure the truck is properly loaded and secured before departure.

After Delivery — Inspect Immediately

  • Open all boxes and inspect items on the day of delivery.

  • Any damage or missing items must be noted on the delivery receipt before the movers leave.

  • Keep all paperwork: bill of lading, inventory list, photos, receipts — these are required for any claims process.

Pro Tip: Treat packing and documentation as carefully as the move itself — a well-documented move is the best protection against loss or damage.
